How do I pay for my subscription?
In Kenya, most landlords prefer M-Pesa. Pay via PayBill 880100 → Account: PAYTAARTU, then enter your transaction code in your Billing Dashboard. We also support optional Paystack card payments for landlords who prefer that.
How do I pay via M-Pesa?
Go to M-Pesa on your phone, select Lipa na M-Pesa → Pay Bill, enter Business Number 880100, Account Number PAYTAARTU (exactly as written), then enter the amount and complete payment. After receiving your confirmation SMS, log in to your dashboard, go to Billing, and enter your M-Pesa transaction code. We'll verify and activate your subscription within 24 hours.
How does M-Pesa rent collection work?
Taartu Homes integrates directly with Safaricom's Daraja API. When tenants pay rent, they receive an STK push notification on their phone. Once they enter their M-Pesa PIN, the payment is automatically recorded in your dashboard with instant confirmation. No manual reconciliation needed—the system matches payments to tenants automatically.
What does KRA compliance mean?
Taartu Homes generates detailed income reports that meet Kenya Revenue Authority requirements. You can export annual income summaries, expense breakdowns, and tenant payment records in formats accepted for tax filing. This makes it easy to declare rental income accurately without spending hours on spreadsheets.
How does tenant onboarding work?
Tenant onboarding is invitation-only for security. You add a tenant's phone and email, then Taartu Homes sends them a secure invitation link via SMS and email. They click the link, verify their identity, and create their free account. They're immediately connected to their unit and can start paying rent via M-Pesa.
Is Taartu Homes really free for tenants?
Yes! Tenants never pay to use Taartu Homes. They can view their lease, make payments via M-Pesa, submit maintenance requests, and access their complete payment history—all completely free, forever.
How does the pricing work?
You pay per unit per month. The more units you have, the lower the per-unit cost. For example, with the Starter plan at KES 80/unit/month, 10 units would cost KES 800/month. Pricing is transparent with no hidden fees.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
Absolutely. You can change your plan at any time from your dashboard. If you upgrade, you'll be prorated for the remainder of the billing period. If you downgrade, the change takes effect on your next billing date.
Is there a long-term contract?
No contracts. Pay monthly and cancel anytime. We also offer annual billing with a 20% discount if you prefer to pay upfront. Your data remains accessible even after cancellation.
What happens if I exceed my unit limit?
We'll notify you and give you the option to upgrade. Your existing functionality continues working—we won't automatically charge you or lock your account without your consent. You can upgrade when ready.
